When Luke and I started dating, I was living in a studio apartment at the very top of Manhattan. Sure, I had a kitchen; it was small, but since my apartment had been renovated right before I moved in, the appliances were new. But here’s the thing. I had a Chinese restaurant across the street that, for $3.50, would give me enough tofu and broccoli for two meals. Long story short, I lived in the place for three months before I realized my stove was broken and had to have the super come in and fix it.

Luke always made fun of the fact that my fridge generally contained only a bottle of ketchup, a quart of expired milk and a few eggs. He loves to cook, and while I enjoy it, living in New York made it kind of pointless for me. I never really got back into the habit of cooking, even after we moved to Brooklyn and had a decent kitchen. Then, when we moved to Jersey City last year, the kitchen was so comically small and awful in every way, that both of us lost our will to create culinary masterpieces (and live).

All of this is my way of telling you that I’m (logically) expanding my writing repertoire beyond television and into food. CliqueClack, home of the lovely CliqueClack TV, has branched out into CliqueClack Food. I’ve only got one entry up so far, but I’m working on some stuff, including a regular column. I hope you visit now and keep on coming back. I’m super-excited about writing for them, as well as getting back in the kitchen and exploring it in a way I never have before.
